Hell Bent for Speed
Not much happening with my car(s) front right now. Cruising is about done for the year. The transmission will have to come back out of the ratrod. It shot craps on me. So much for it being a "good" transmission... :bomb Winter project.
Anywhoo. Since my garage time is slow, I have actually been promoting myself & my aspiring side business and have been succesful at bringing in some work. Granted it's not glorious car related work, but it's still fabrication work none the less.
I built a set of custom hand rails for a reception hall that is being renovated. Nothing real fancy, these just bolt to the floor & wall and then get a textured metal insert panel bolted to the mounting ears ( :Mark).
Supposedly I am to start fab'ing a sweet stair railing that makes (3) 90 turns, with landings, etc. leading down to the basement of the same hall.
Next I actually just made this Large wall star for the Wife, but now her friends want some too, and even bigger ones. I said, sure I can make & sell you some :thu
I actually sheared this one by hand and built a make-shift bender as well. The results were pretty good. I am looking into buying a 36" shear now though - it will lend to perfectly straight lines and make the fab time shorter & easier.
Mocked up:
Distressed & ready to be hung. It's about 36" wide from point to point.
What is everyone else up to? Seems a little slow around here lately.
