What I've been doing; what are you doing?

I'm sure you guys noticed I haven't posted much lately...not by choice, been too busy. Can't remember the last time I even took the cover off the fastback.

Been doing work-ups, leave home this Friday, should be in Afghanistan within the next couple weeks.

I have some plans for when I get back, I want to sell the 78 F-150 and get a late 80's to early 90's F-250 diesel.

Be safe over there.

I haven't touched the mustang in months. Sort of hit a wall and just can't get motivated.

We just got back from California. Most of my time and energy lately has been spent trying to figure out where to move to get out of this god awful land of cheeseheads and snow. Heading to Florida next in December.

Have you had snow yet? we've had a couple inch's a few days ago. I can't remember it ever snowing here this early.

No snow yet, thank god. But I know its coming. Gotta get out soon.

I was pretty surprised to see the mess the east coast got hit with. It is really early.

I've been swamped at work. It's been taking all my free time lately. I have done some mustang work recently and have a new build thread to start but haven't had time soon hopefully. Got some progress to show on the new project.

Did these a while back, just got around to snagging a few pics of them mounted on the building.

The entire roof is covered in Solar Panels - which backfeeds into the power grid. The owner wanted to promote that they are Green and had a solar system; so they wanted to hang a couple of solar panels on the side of their building, also to work as a tickler to promote interest/questions about Solar Power.

I fab'd these two mounts:

And had to paint them too:

OK, here are the downpipes for the modified shortie headers I'm working on. Not as pretty as J's, but they are tight and solid welds. Ran out of argon, so off to the welding supply.

And here is the other project that has delayed the Mustang so long. Digging worms from the garden, he decided to have worms as pets. (yes, gratuitous kid shot, sue me.)
Nothing wrong with kid shots, cute pic, kids and grandkids grow up so fast, our grandaughter is 8 going on 14!

That looks nice--I bet it was tough to find good mortar to attach those to . I am starting to feel bad about posting that sweater picture--I might need something nice made someday--old buddy, old pal--lol!!

Correct Rod. 100+ year old building. The top two holes of each mount has a solid all-thread rod going though the bracket, through 4 courses of brick and has a large square washer inside to pull against for up-lift from wind.

That's why I also left a 4" air gap between the top of the solar panel & the building to let air flow up & through.

What? You couldn't just weld the entire structure onto the brick facing? I'm very disappointed, Jeremy... :no

Bucket truck? or ladder work?---what did you put on for a finish? it would be a nice place to compare por 15 or zero rust ---I have used 0 rust with pretty good results---very nice work!
