I should know this but just want to make sure. Which terminal on the ignition switch do I hook up items that require 12v switched on? Is it the center (Acc) post? The items are all my gauges such as tach, oil, fuel, & temp.

Yes, the center post if your car has it. I believe the 1968's have a different design for the ignition switch than the 65/66 that you're probably used to. In any case, yes, the ACC line is what you want to tap into, and it is a thick black/green wire.
