Why do people drive with just their parking lights on?

I see this all the time around here, people driving with just their parking lights/lamps on, no headlights and in the daytime. Am I missing the fad? Do I need to starting driving my daily driver with them on.. maybe get some spinners too? Maybe then I will be cool.

Cuz dey is gangsta, y0! Could also be the Gaytime Running Lights, seems like some newer cars use the parking lights for those.

Here's another question: What are parking lights for? Not really enough light to make a difference at night....

If you really want to be cool.. you need to have a Slab (some large car?) with some Swangas (spikey wheels that stick way out) on it.
This is the new fad here in Texas it seems. :puke

Daytime runners don't turn on the parking lights, my old car had them, it just ran the highbeam lamps at low light.

I have found a good use for parking lamps, since I leave the house a little before 5am I drive with my parking lamps in my driveway until I get to the road otherwise my headlights would be shining into the house across the street.

OMG! Rick JUST emailed a couple of us a picture just like that too. Him and Sluggo were going somewhere I think.

Crazy.

and here I thought the ricer crowd had taken things about as low as they could go. can't wait for that crap to start showing up around here

I asked a Mustang driver why he did it.....reply was just because he always has.......none of the old Mustang lights are bright enough to make a difference in the day for sure.

.....yes, at night when headlights are required. Most of this is during the day.

I just looked it up in the California code, and it is illegal to drive at anytime with just the parking lights on. The only time that the parking lights are to be on is when they are being used as turn signals or when the headlights are also on.

Alright, someone had to say it so it might as well be me.

If you ride around with just the parking lights on, yer :ga

When you are going through a guarded security gate, it is a courtesy to dim the lights, so during that 50' or so into the gate a few feet past, I do drive with just the parking lights on. Don't do it during the day though.
