Assuming (I know) you mean losing a grand to mean your deductible. when we sicked State Farm on another ins. co on a claim that totaled our car, they got us our grand back. kip

Yep. Part of your insurance company's responsibility is to defend you in such matters. Call your agent and tell them what is happening. I'm quite sure he will tell you to get them involved.

You should have brought your insurance company in from the start. There should not be a deductible since your insurance company will be going after them!

If we the customer use insurance as it was intended, it works well! It is when we don't get them involved and when we talk to the other guy's insurance without talking to our own insurance company that we get the run around!

Stop the hemorrhaging and call your agent!

Your rates will not go up unless you think you may be at fault or partially at fault! Even then I have had two vehicles totaled and no increase in premium. My daughter totaled two Explorers in six months.

I am so sorry to see you in such mental pain, but take it from someone that was in the insurance industry and who's wife was in the casualty end of things with three different agencies, when you have a legitimate claim, the insurance companies will honor their contractual obligations! You have nothing to fear, really!

Unless you are with Allstate! Or you are at fault.

Thanks guys. The first thing we did was contact out insurance company and they contacted Allstate to see if they were going to pay for the repairs. The adjuster indicated Allstate would cover the repair and they had our car towed to the Toyota dealership in Kingsport. I don't know what changed other that the driver of the other car changing his story but if Allstate buys into this they are pretty darn stupid. If we don't hear from them by noon today, then our insurance will take over and get her into a rental car until her car is fixed or totalled it out. After going through what we've experienced so far, I will have to label those who represent Allstate as a bunch of liars.

I'm thinking you should find out where this other driver's agent's office is located and take a trip over there. Most are in little strip malls and with luck his would be. I suggest wheeling up in the half-track and parking it right in front of his store-front window, marching in and demanding he get involved with his parent company to get it settled lest you have to amp things up a notch!

Now that your insurance company is involved, sit back, rest easy and let them do what you pay them to do.

I am happy to see some progress!

Finally we got the phone call that we've been waiting on. Allstate accepted liability on the claim and has put my wifie in a rent-a-car. You'd know it would have to be a Chevy. :rant
