Dang...I live in the PRK and I constantly shoot ground squirrels in the back yard. You know you're a redneck when you crack the sliding glass door open just far enough to stick the barrel out to shoot varmits. :lol

I have been know to do just that with the pellet riffle...my silent little equalizer....

Here in Texas the permit to carry is issued to the individual...

Ahh, I was talking permit to purchase. In NC, a permit to carry is considered a permit to buy unlimited, but w/o a permit to carry, you must get a permit to buy from the Sherrif of the county you reside in for each pistol you purchase.

Man...that sucks.

The last two times I bought a pistol I bought them on lunch hour. Just run over to whatever store you are buying from, fill out some paperwork, wait for clerk to make phone call, pay for it and go home.

First of all, you shoot a skunk close by your property and there is a good chance you will smell it for a long time. They also have a natural stink that is not from their spray. Even removing the spray parts, they will still have a slight odor.

A skunk cannot spray you if it cannot get its tail stood up. Understand your enemy. We used short/small traps and it worked every time. We could walk right up to the trap and shoot them with a paint can. After a while, each got a different color.

Living out in the desert like we did, it was no problem sharing the space. Most wildlife moved out after we moved in. Just a few stubborn ones over the years. Skunks will move in while you are gone for a weekend.

We would trap them, drag the trap into a small trailer, paint them, and go for a ride. The final way to keep them from returning was to take them across the river that was 9 miles from out house. Never saw one return then.

My problem is that a certain skunk returns to the garage about every two weeks or so, and he's hard to get rid of. Fortunately, he brings a six pack with him, which makes it somewhat tolerable...

Hey, it is NORTH Carolina. SC (my home state) isn't so uptight- no permit to buy, just a caryy permit (if concealed). On the plus side, the Iredell County NC sheriff has told me to just open carry, it's legal and discourages theft when making night bank deposits.

Any time after midnight I probably could cap one of the little devils with a .22 then quickly step inside or even just shoot it from the window. Most of my neighbors wouldn't care even if they figured it out but there's always that one neighbor....I think most neighborhoods have one.

I believe most guns hold more than one .22 cap for that reason. The annoying neighbor, Think of it as a Community service. Everybody wants to serve their community right? LOL.....
