I like my garage ratio, all inside the blue circle is garage.
Shop is 2400 sq ft, house is half that. Priorities.....
Amen brother! My wife not only supports my hobby, she has a Mustang ('67 Fastback) of her own. Her dad has a '34 Ford, '55 Lincoln, and a '47 Lincoln Continental vert he is restoring. She grew up going to car meets. Been married 31 yrs, I'm a very lucky guy. Oh, and the original post about the garage...it aint big enough.
When we left the country (4 car garage and a 40'x80' barn) and moved to Ames I had to live with a 2 car garage. That really sucked! I have since rented a 4 car storage unit away from the house and have everything set up there. I like having it away from the house and neighbors. I can make as much noise as I want and no one complains. I can go work on stuff and there is no one to bother me. Since I keep the trailer at the same place, I have all the amenities of home without the hassles. Hell, they'd even let me install a lift if I was so inclined.
I currently have 22 building on my land (buildings = taxed by the county). When I retire, they will all become car storage areas or be torn down. The tractor barn is my first project, It needs a cement floor poured and electrical run to it.
Funny thing is last year they said I had 23 buildings. When I asked to see then (they have satalite pictures). One was my deer stand. They removed it from the list.
Dreamers.....which I am one of.
Hmm, I had to figure it up. Currently I have 900 feet to the house's 1280. But when the '69's bedroom is added on then the shop will be at 1350 square feet. Yeah, baby, yeah!
If you left the country how did you get back in?
Easy. He popped on a John Deere cap and drove a dirty pickup with a bunch of crap on the dashboard and medium sized dog in the back. Slipped right out of the suburbs unnoticed.
Man, no kidding! You're lucky I didn't just set up shop and decide to stay for good the other week when I was over there Your garages are to die for!
I cannot wait to drive around with a John Deere cap on. Priceless!
Kelly, you are a gem
you are always welcome to park/work on Jane whenever you are in the area!
When you mentioned adding a paint booth in your shop, Kelly's eyes lit up !! I think she is looking at an adult adoption so she and Jane can stay indefinitely!!!
Come the fall I can adopt. In depth Screening will need to be done tho. She may not want me, although I could be viewed as her 'Sugar Daddy'
