How has everybody prettied up there Engine Compartment?

What kind of Fuel pump is that? It looks like a billet style fuel pump or something? Its rather shiny... I like the valve covers as well. Are they expensive?

It's a Holley pump. I forgot the cost of the valve covers, but they weren't too expensive. Produced by Ansen? I think?

First of all, cover the dist. and carb with plastic bags and wash the engine and all surrounding areas. After it is dry, get on line and find the wiring and hose routing diagrams for your setup. Fix those so they look nice. Then, maybe look at doing a painting as mentioned.

Trying to get the thing running again... =/ im so sad. Idk what I should do now. Ive tried almost everything.

Looks like you are missing a vacuum line to the PCV valve on the rear of the passenger side valve cover. Is there a matching opening in the rear area of the carb? If so...big vac. leak.

Well I dont think thatd keep me from getting a spark though
lol

I cleaned up my engine compartment last year.
- routed the wiring harnesses under the fenders
- eliminated the solenoid by going to a high torque ministarter
- rotated the horns down and installed the grill cover
- rerouted the fuel line to come up through the trans tunnel opening
- routed all of the engine wiring through the middle of the Air Gap intake

WOW that looks nice! any pics of how you ran the wires (an up skirt shot)?

Here's some pictures of the passenger side "hidden" wiring. This is the entire stock passenger side wiring harness to the solenoid, the driver side wiring harness to the solenoid, the new electric fan, the MSD-6AL box and some of the RetroTek EFI wiring.

The high torque mini starter wouldn't crank, so I had to temporarily put the solenoid in place. Once I sort out the starting problem and put the mini starter in place, I will replace the solenoid with a distribution stud.

The battery cable is coming in from the left, a power cable is heading to the upper right to a distribution stud, and the starter cable is heading down and to the right.

This is the main wiring bundle, protected by heater hose and the power cable.

This is the distribution stud. It is carring the power cable from the solenoid battery post and is feeding the alternator, MSD box and electric fan.

Here is the wiring bundle coming out from the passenger side headlight box. The white wire is from the MSD box and is for a future ignition kill switch.
