Honestly, I don’t have problems posting pics in the correct orientation, so I don’t know the fix.

The proper way to take pics is horizontal. The internet has been trying to tell you all along.
DUDE. Take the damn pic in any phone orientation you want. If you need to reorient it for any reason (posting on the Fix) simply open it on your phone, click to edit it and rotate to the desired orientation and then save it.
Choose a pic you tried to post that ended up sideways and do as I type above and see how that goes. I'm amazed you can leave your neighborhood and find your way home! Boomers...
