I've got to agree with Jeff on the subject of bikes on mountain roads. I'm familiar with the area where he lives and I've seen too many hard charging Silicon Valley types wrapped in their spandex suits with their Adam Ant helmets and dental tools riding right out in the middle of the lane on blind mountain curves under the assumption that they have the "same rights as cars". When I was a kid my dad taught me to drive and his first message to me was that, regardless of the legal issues, large trucks always had the "right of weight". Up here, where I live now, the hills are full of weekend bikers as well. They generally use the bike lanes up here, but can someone please explain why they have to ride two abreast in the bike lane or right on the white stripe separating the bike lane from the traffic lane? Just askin for problems.
