Re: My 69 Coupe build UPDATED 5-8-11

Looks good, Dave. Who makes the brackets and pulleys are you using?

Re: My 69 Coupe build UPDATED 5-8-11

the alternator bracket is from fastforward performance

the PS bracket is from Billet Depot

the pulleys are from Wysco

I bought all on ebay though. About $200 for everything.

I'd say you did very well!

I'm trying to decide which way I want to go with mine. I'm having a real hard time justifying the cost of a system from companies like March or Billet...even though they look bad ass!

Re: My 69 Coupe build UPDATED 8-31-11

heres a couple pics from this Mon-Wed. Usually I'd be working these days but thanks to Irene flooding half of jersey I got paid to take off 3 days (office closed) and work on my car instead. So I glued in the rear window, put in the carpet, harnesses and back seats. Seats will eventually be black but staying red for now. Ill be working on getting the dash in the rest of the week then back on engine once the last pulley comes in.

Three paid days off and progress on your car, the storm wasn't all bad!! :thu Question, is it an angle thing or is your alt adjuster going to interfere with your radiator hose attachment? I need to find something similar for a v belt setup on mine. kip

Re: My 69 Coupe build UPDATED 8-31-11

Cool, I see now how the bottom of the adjuster goes back, spacer will work well. Nice job! kip

Re: My 69 Coupe build UPDATED 9-10-11

heres a couple pics from this saturdays progress on the dash.

Re: My 69 Coupe build UPDATED 9-26-11

been a couple weeks since my last update, so here it goes.

Ive been working on a lot of wiring to figure out what was missing from my harness, where everything hooks up, what the PO wire wrong?

So I was missing the engine temp, oil temp and coil harness as well as sensors (ordered), driver side light harness (ordered and installed).

The PO also had the ignition switch wired wrong so I had to remove it and re-wire it. Just gotta get a couple circle electrical connectors that fit the ignition switch.

Installed my 69" serpentine belt, powers steering lines, headlights and radiator hose. I was also missing the heater hose fitting for the manifold, so once that comes in Ill hook up everything to the waterpump and manifold and give it a go at starting.

I love people that hate wiring! :sm_NTA

Re: My 69 Coupe build UPDATED 9-26-11

I actually cant complain, Ive only had to fix a couple of wires that were either cut or damaged in some way.

Most of the wiring has matched perfectly to the 69 wiring book I have so its just been a matter of finding everything and hooking it up.

Nice car! 69 Coupe was my 2nd car; purchased around 82/83; lots of great memories with that car.

Anyway; what color was yours originally? I'm trying to find the owner of my car- if it survived. Some how I still have the tags & would like to find the owner. I don't have many pics of my car; so I don't really have anything to compare mine to others. I originally bought mine in the Scotch Plains area; sold it out of Watchung. I posted on the registry on 1969stang.com & haven't been successful.

Wow.. lol

Did you ever see the paint code site? link

Click the Ford color code- Champagne Gold 1969 Mustang; brings up a lot of info. Not sure where I saw the original option cards; I see one linked on the results on that page but one site has the one for paint as well as interior colors.

Enjoy your car. Seeing the posts is making me miss mine.

yea ive seen the paint code site. I cant believe the colors they painted cars back then, and even the interiors were wierd colors.

Im going to be going with either black, satin black, some shade of blue or silver maybe even 2 tone the body some how.

As far as interior goes ill be going all black.

been a long time since I updated.

I moved in Oct 2011 to a new place (that has a 2 car garage!!!! no more working on gravel) a didnt get my car to the new place til a couple weeks ago. I got right back to work tho.

The car now cranks from ignition and has spark, I just have to workout why mechanical pump doesnt seem to be working. Ive also purchased new seats for the car, ditched the heater box and fan as well as back seats, since im using harnesses.

Really happy I was able to diagnose and fix the wiring issues I had, its one thing to send it out but another to fix it yourself. Ill know how to fix a problem that arises now.
