it freakin blows. So much emotions, crying like a baby, swear he's here and waiting for him to be around the corner. It's tougher than I thought

I have to agree with you about getting another. The last dog we lost was fighting lymphoma and losing the battle. She was like one of our children and the loss felt the same. When we knew the end was coming near the wife and I had been discussing getting another dog, as much for us as to fill the void in her "little sister's" life (a puppy that had grown up around her). The day after her suffering ended we got a new puppy. We didn't intend to get an new puppy so soon, but it simply worked out that way. While initially it may seem like a cold and callous thing to do, it helped the healing greatly. Even after 1 1/2 years know we still miss our Sadie. The new puppy did not and will not ever replace our beloved lost one, but instead she became a new addition to our hearts and family. My wife says it's going to be a long time before we get another dog. Not sure I'm on that boat with her.
When Sandie died, we decided we wouldn't get another and just love and enjoy Max until her time came.My wife says it's going to be a long time before we get another dog. Not sure I'm on that boat with her.
Glen,
You made my day. I miss my dogs terribly. I have decided to wait until I retire in the next 24 months to get another friend.
One day, I will have more friends who won't care what happens each day and will provide unconditional love, regardless of how much a butthead I am.
