Summit Carb Update

Mine's been great, especially after another member recently helped w/some fine tuning (idle mixture screws, curb idle) using a vacuum gauge and low-level RPM reader. I feel it's probably a bit rich and needs to be jetted down some.

If your eyes are stinging as you state, that's indicative of a rich condition.

Mine is working great. Car hasn't moved in a while (floor project), but it still fires right up everytime I crank it. Ran great when moving also. My tune was so close out of the box that I didn't touch it.

That reminds me...I need to throw away my current carb.

Thanks for the reminder :part

Don't toss it, send it off to the "Kraken" for a re-build.

2 Barrel Carb

Hmmm....
Never been happy with my Carb on my 1968. I just never seem to get it adjusted correctly.
The carb looks like an interesting option but my car is currently a 2 Barrel carb on a 289.

I'm still happy with mine. The only thing that bothers me about it is there is a tendency for it to idle a bit low after a 20-30 minute hot soak restart.

I'll probably get some time time tweak it more after the holidays.
