2013 Hot Rod Power Tour!

The problem is funds, we spent way too much money helping out my son. I'm lucky to get this much but Birmingham and Chattanooga are short drives from home so it shouldn't cost too much to drive down to B'ham and then over to Chattanooga and then back home. Believe me I'd like to do the whole thing! I'm really bummed that I can't make it to Arlington to for John's cook out and Jerry's place but I will take what I can get!!!
 
I feel for you, I know how much you were looking forward to this years PT. We'll meet up with you and Tara and make the best of it.

I know its not the power tour, but I see that mustang steve's annual bash is going to be held here in franklin on sept 28... would be a cheap, close to home event.
 
Less than a week before we leave :steer for Texas and the Hot Rod Power Tour, I guess I'm as ready as I'll ever be.
Today I cleaned it up and put some wax on. :bowdown

Craig I wouldn't rub it in. Sherri and I are really gonna miss you and Tara this year but we will see you down the road. I guess I wasn't completely ready. I'm at my friends charging my A/C right now. And tonight we have a frost warning.
Yes I will win the EFI!!
 
I'm just playing. We will see you in Birmingham and Chattanooga, really wish we could go all the way but I will take what I can get
 
Just was in contact with an old friend from St.Louis and he mentions he will be on the Power Tour. Look for a convertible GS with Missouri plates...Bob Merrick.....little guy....and he says he's on the short list for the EFI too.
 
I was hoping to go up to Arlington this year again, but looks like I won't be able to make it. Daughters graduation is May 31st so I'm going to be having tons of family here that weekend.

It looks like I'm going on the Power Tour! :yah

My daughter and son-in-law have been planning for over a year to go on the long haul with the SIL riding with a friend in his new Challenger and my daughter driving her '12 Mustang, with another friend riding with her. Well, her passenger just cancelled on her, so she asked if I would go. I thought about it for a minute and said I would love to, but only if we take my '66. So, I'm going to get it out tomorrow, take it for drive and check everything out to make sure it is ready to go. If all goes well we should be arriving in Arlington Friday evening.

So did the 66 check out OK? We'll be passing through Memphis Thursday, not sure where we'll be stopping Wednesday night so our time through Memphis is :confu, hopefully AM.

Yep, everything seems to be in order. Changed the alt. belt for good measure as it had been on there for 8+ years.

We won't be leaving here (Nashville) until Friday AM. It's about ten hours driving time to Arlington, so with meal and gas stops, it might be late Friday before we get in.
 
The Mustang is all cleaned and ready to go!
