First Drive

I took the Stang out on its first drive last Saturday night. We had a local cruise night here in Gore, Ok. I cant believe that it has been 7 years since I started restoring my 70 Coupe. I have to install the windshield moulding and do some touch up in the engine bay. I also need to finish the trunk area. It was allot of fun driving the stang. My wife tells me that it hasn't been drove since before we got married in 1994. My dash gauges don't work. I'm thinking I will change over to after market gauges from autometer. Does anyone have any suggestions on which gauges to use? I will post some pics asap.

I'm using Autometer's simple Sport-Comp in both the 65 and the 68. They have such a nice wide range of gauges, you're bound to find something to your likings.

Congrats!!!

but if you don't load up some "finished" pics, you'll be excommunicated....or worse.

I used autometer phantom gauges and i have been happy with them. Of course i only have 50 miles on them so far. :vic The pics old and dusty, but you get the idea.

Yes. It just that I am at work and only have old pics.
We like old pics..... Gives us an idea of where you started.....

I converted my '70 bezel to all autometer Sport-Comp (black) gauges.

Pretty easy to do. I think I may even still have my modified wiring diagram of which wires I reused, etc. I'll do some digging.

I'm a 68 man through and through, but the 69 and 70's have really grown on me. And Coupes rock!!!

Fixed it for ya. :)

I keep thinking that a '69 or '70 would be my next project - sports roof, of course. But, I think I like the coupe better. Beautiful, classy lines.

No sir; it is mechanical. I had to swap out the speedo gear. It's pretty close to being accurate too. LoL.
