OK. Found some time to work on my 67 fastback project.
I had mooked up the entire front of the fastback on my workbench. See previous pics.
So yesterday I checked all measurement and began to dissamble that front assembly.
First thing to do is to weld the front frame rails to the front floor supports.
Don't mind the welds as I am not a professionel welder. But they hold.
It takes quite some time to drill and weld all those holes. 72

Put the frames on the bench. Now I am figuring out the proper sequence to weld all component and keeping it level, square, plump, and whatever is neccesarry to have a proper front end.

Well...I am not an expert in finishing projects. At least hobby wise.
In my professionel live I always finished my work to a higher standart as requested. Same when people bring their cars to my place.
When it comes to projects in our home....it can take longer but eventually it will be finished.
But when it comes to my hobby (mustang) , I can jump from one thing to another.
The main thing for me is , when practicing my hobby, to have fun !!
No pressure of finishing things.
I nearly have driven my fastback the last years. Last time was to the Euro Nascar Series at Zolder Race Circuit in 2019.
So...The hobby is not to drive the mustang but to work on....as far as my wallet will alow.

Tip came loose. Threads are worn. Ordered a complete new torch.

The mig welder is a light industrial machine. 3x380v 160amps and about 25y old.
Changed out the rectifier a couple of years ago. All copper winds.
Overall a decent machine.

OK. Found some time to work on the front end. Welded the shock towers to the frame.
Not all weld are super nice but they will hold everything in place.
Also welded in the front floor support.

Made some progress. Bolted , clamped, pressed this piece into place. Welds aren't nice but I have put enough heat into it. More grinding to do.

Found some new energy !! Grinded the welds of the motormount supports. Drilled spotweld openings in the radiator support.
Checked the front assembly ...again. Within specs to my acknowledge.

Well , I am very glad all went smoothly together. I am a bit of a perfectionist not saying that all what I am doing is perfect !!! But I am trying !!
This afternoon I mounted the front approns together with the radiator support and must say...perfect.
Tomorrow I shoot some pics.

Its tomorrow . Welded rad support. And checked with a induscoop if penetration was ok ! .

Took the front aprons, punched and drilled out holes. And fitted them to the front end.
