Is it cold in Beloit, WI ? I got two weeks coming up to stay there

We really like California, but pretty sure we just can't afford it. Don't want Jen to have to work.
We are leaning towards the Carolina's or Dallas area. Jens parents moved to Florida so the Carolina's would keep us closer to both parents. I spent a lot of time in north Carolina. My brother used to live there.
Pretty much going to make the decision in the spring. Want to make a trip to the Carolinas first.

If you see two guys in a rental car having a hard time driving, it might be me and my co-worker trying to get to class. I was checking the city calendar and found free ice skating as pretty much the only activity while we are there. Most everything else is "closed for the season" which I take as code for tooooooooooooo fnnnnnnnnnnn cold.

It was 11 yesterday morning here. We're experiencing a heat wave today, started out at 15 and gonna be a balmy 27 with 25mph winds. It's almost water skiing weather!
