This way you always get a teak done the way you want.

I've always thought that 'teak' was a little too sandy for my taste.

Oh then you must try the oak. Much more woody. Ooo woody.

Planning on driving the Boss from Mountain View, CA, by way of Bakersfield, making it a two day trip.
Hope to talk my brother, (bebop390), into caravaning with me as well...

Nice! We'll see you when you get here, viva Las Vegas!

I'll be doing the same route but making it a one day ride.

Thinking of going on Thursday and returning Monday making a 4 night stay in LV.

I will be towing :hide

Taking the RV with the fastback on a trailer, grabbing the kid from college in LA and arriving Thursday. I would love to drive the car, but can't make it happen.

Not keen on 9 hour drives anymore...
Maybe we can caravan on day one, however... Leaving on Thursday sounds about right...

well I bought the tickets for the event. I also booked at MGM Thurs thru Sun (Leaving Monday).

I swapped to the Monte Carlo since many of my club members are staying in. We're convoying up on Tuesday. At least if I get another blowout, I'll have help this time.

Hey Laurie, Is the convoy just for club members? I'm planning on taking my 68 convertible, with my son and a friend (even though he's a Chevy guy). 289 C4, so sustained 75-85mph might be out of it's range, so I figure a convoy would probably be wise. Thanks

Thanks Laurie!
Also, count me in for the Stangfix Gathering/Group Meeting!

Not to Hijack, but rather to keep the subject together, before I go PMs, I thought that some of my questions would benefit other stangfixers to be prepared, and I'm hoping you can answer some of them.

1) Since I am only bringing one car, my 68 vert, will I be able to park it each day and then drive it back to the hotel? In other words, they aren't making you leave your Mustang each day are they?

2) I registered today, so I'm assuming I'll get some info in the mail with maps and instructions?

3) Should I bring folding chairs and an umbrella...or what is the protocol for staying with your car?

4) Will they let us bring a cooler and food in?

5) Are Car Clubs grouped together?

6) First come first parked...meaning does the early bird get the best/choice spot?

Thanks Laurie!

Sounds like we'll have enough for a quorum on Friday the 18th - I'll throw a StangFix BBQ at my place, time to be announced but probably immediately following the track closing Friday which is around 5pm.

My place is convenient to the track and I-15 so no wasted time driving to the other side of town:

I'll get a final head count later, but we'll burn the briquettes if it's just 2 or over 20. :beer So far we have:

Me + SWMBO
Eric English - photographer/writer for multiple auto mags (he shot the cover of December Car Craft - '69 Boss)
2 more locals
KBMWRS+SWMBO

Plan on swinging by!

Well, I mapped it and figured the drive from downtown would be faster/easier than the Monte Carlo, plus it's less $ too. So I'm in, Tuesday through Sunday, at the 4Queens!

I finally got around to reserving my room--I'm staying at the Monte Carlo. Mike, is there anyone besides us driving there on Thursday?

The 4Queens is a dive though. So is the Plaza. The only one in the Fremont experience that is worth it is the Gold Nugget.

I spent a lot of time with tour groups in Vegas when I was driving bus.

Be careful.

Mel
