My Wife's Diamond Blue Coupe (A Daliy Driver)

Re: My Wife's Diamond Blue Coupe

Got the exhaust on and drove it for 15 miles today. Need to tune it some more. Now down to some little things. Having to put on that rusty drive shaft was killing me. I better get the other one detailed and balanced.

Congrats John! Looking good. Glad to see this car finally on the road after 10 years of lounging in the man cave.

It's drivable to not yet done. The list is small but I still have to do:
- Add AC
- Need to install the windshield washer nozzles
- The clock and lights for the overhead console do not work
- Need to adjust the headlight - they are pointing to the tops of the light pole now!
- The transmission is slipping into 3rd gear.
- Add the dual point distributor I had re-curved for it and re-tune.
- Get a spare tire
- Need to get a hood bumper (a small one is missing) and the rubber seal for the passenger side door window.
- Balance and detail my extra drive shaft

I just finished recovering and installed the Passenger seat.

Re: My Wife's Diamond Blue Coupe (Almost Done)

I could not get the engine tuned in, I was close but not where I wanted it. I had it dynoed today.

They set the timing to 10 deg at idle, 55 Front jets, 65 rear jets and rear air bleed 53 drill size

The Dyno Sheet

Todo list now:
- Add AC
- The clock and lights for the overhead console do not work
- Get a spare tire
- Balance and detail my extra drive shaft (Currently in progress)

that the stock A code 289 from the car I bought? 165hp to the rear wheels isn't too bad. IIRC they were rated at 225 BHP?

Yes, It is the stock A Code engine. I think that the 225 BHP was at the flywheel so 165 at the rear wheels is close. I also have a C4 which take about 25 hp away.

Overall, I am please.

I got to hurry and get that AC in so Julie and I can join y'all next year on the Power Tour! :thu

Re: My Wife's Diamond Blue Coupe (Almost Done)

Added some decals to the engine bay. After looking at other picture of engine bays, I believe that the air cleaner is from a 67. Anyone know for sure? If so, I need to keep an eye out for a correct 68 air cleaner, snorkel and heat riser tube.

There is always something to do. The car has developed a squeak in the rear area and one of the seat belt buckles came apart. Need to get that AC system and install it.
