Seen at Car Shows and Cruise Nights

I hope you guys are liking all these pics. If not let me know and I will lay off. Yesterday I had planned on going to a large show nearby but the organizer cancelled for threat of rain (it finally cam but in the late afternoon). Since I was already set to go I headed out west on the car's longest trip yet to a little town called Paw Paw. Yep, Paw Paw. A couple guys had mentioned it to me at an earlier show and said it was a really good one with lots of great cars and usually filled up a few acres. So an hour and a half later...

Lot's of really nice trucks at this one. It was a rural location after all. That Harley semi was an owner built behemoth. Crazy. The Lil Red Express is a survivor with only 30k miles on it. Cool

I won my class (1960's Street Machine) and also got the town's Chamber of Commerce Award.

Nice assortment of rides Thanks for sharing. The yellow 65-66 coupe? Have any pictures of it from the rear? Like that Cougar Eliminator. And I would let a 70 split bumper reside in my garage if the opportunity presented itself. I dig that 60's Ford pu laying down low. Congrats on the awards, but what are we going to do around here. What with Mark's big ears and your Big Head, seems your bringing in the awards ever show you go to. ;)

Of course I would but let's be realistic. :p:D:rolleyes: I honestly am enjoying the cruises and shows just as an excuse to get the car out and log some miles. Yesterday I put on close to a hundred miles on some really nice country blacktops. Feels beyond amazing to just go cruising. Having other people appreciate the car enough to cast a vote for it is just gravy and not the intent. Meeting folks and seeing and hearing about their rides is the real win.

I'll be the first to admit I do like the 70-73 Camaros. Growing up my uncle had an orange split bumper that he had done a lot to. Loved that car. The Eliminator is a bad ass Cougar.
As to the yellow mustang, I met the owner a couple weeks ago when he was without the car at a show. We talked for quite a while and he told me all about it. It's for sure a very specific taste kind of build. The hood opens in reverse via electric actuators and the trunk does the same manually. What you don't see in the picture is the engine compartment. It hides a Roush built 351 with Hilborn injection. Awesome sight. Of course the bay itself is painted grabber blue. As will be the twin stripes running the length of the car when finished soon. There are also some blue accents in the dash and interior. I figured I'd stick to just that one pic. Better that way. At least to me.

It helps a lot that I try to go to a different show (in this area it seems most of the big ones are put on by a handful of organizers) each weekend. Also in a different area. This usually means lots of different cars and even various ways classes and judging are done. This way the car gets lots of "first time" looks and with all the little things I've done it stands out as unique which, again, gets attention.

And no big head here. Believe me. I try to share pics of some of the nicest cars (at least that I like) at each show. There are a lot that I think are much nicer than mine. Some of the paint work is amazing. Luckily mine is black as guys in the know give some slack for the minor flaws in mine given how tough it is to do well. Plus seems I'm not alone in feeling owner built rides deserve a bit of an edge vs the purchased variety.
