What did you get done on your Stang today????

Finally got off my ass and sent the driveshaft out to be fixed. They wound up retubing it. Slipped it back in today.

Anyone local, I highly recommend Randy's driveshaft service. They had this thing turned around in 4 hours!

mounted the upper mounting plate of the seatbelt harness.
I didn't welded it in , I rivetted it .It just has to hold it in place IMO.
Ooh btw I did work on the window regulators too , sorry no pics from that.

Today take two in installing the 3point seatbells.
Thanks to CMAYNA who inspired me.

went to pull-a-part today to get another clutch master cyl reservoir (either lost the other one or it burned in the fire...) also found a mark vii with a 5.0 HO that had just been put in the yard. robbed the aluminum valve covers & distributor plus hid the intake manifold & some other goodies in another cars trunk until i can go back & remove the whole assembly. lol! came home & routed the wiring harness, bolted on a few parts in the engine compartment, mounted up the steering assembly, bolted on the new 1 1/8" sway bar kit from Opentracker.

Don't forget the hard braking lines ! they should go in first IMHO.
You making good progress !! :thu :thu

on a custom build, i always route the hoses where they need to be, then run the hard lines from the dist block to the end of the hose. then i can hook them together & fasten the junction to the frame.

Sweet!

Just ordered my belts today... about time I got off my duff & got busy on this one.

finally decided on the routing of my brake hoses. ended up turning them forward & will loop the stainless hardlines around to fit. any way i routed them facing the rear, the swaybar endlink would interfere with the travel. also got the column mounted to the steering box, the master cyl/ booster mocked up to figure out where i'm mounting the dist block & finished cleaning 43 yrs of grime off the headlight harness.

Just been working on getting it realigned after putting in the power steering. I'm getting closer to getting it right. Just a few more tweaks and I think (and hope) that I'll have it dialed in.

Why does everyone paint their calipers red? I get painting them to help maintain a cleaner condition but why make a simple stock unit stand out?

i painted mine red for a purpose. with the blue i'm going to use on the car, i'm planning to incorporate a little red stripe somewhere, possibly outlining the flat black hood treatment, so the red on the calipers will tie in with that. it will also tie in with the red stripes in the seats. it a total package thing. not the stock brakes either ... :pbj

First off, I just want to make clear I wasn't directing the question at you in particular. The question just came to me while reading your post.

As you say, if the color is being used to tie into an overall scheme it make perfect sense. I am more curious as to why always red and doubly why guys do it on stock, plain Jane units. It's like every Honda I see sports them. Seemingly its done to draw attention which is what I don't understand.

Keep up with the attitude and you'll run another one off.

Adjusted the rear brakes after replacing them yesterday, went for a 40 mile drive to test them, OK, getting ready to change the oil, get ready for the Power Tour. Later going down the street and having a friend check the A/C, it's working just making sure it all charged up.

i would guess that since alot of the wilwood & brembo stuff was originally red, every guy with a honda & a can of red spraypaint can have "high end" brakes...
