What did you get done on your Stang today????

Replaced the front crank seal that was leaking, also tightened the oil pan bolts. No signs of leaks after driving it to work. :thum

Got my new 22 gallon tank installed last night. It puts a bigger dent now in the wallet to fill it up. At least I will not have to refill for a longer time.

Craig and I moved the fuel line from the tunnel to the rocker. It was really too close to the exhaust the whole way. The new one is Stainless steel. All went well except that dang sending unit just will not read right on the fuel gauge. We'll attack that another day.

I tracked down my pesky coolant leak that was puddling coolant near the distributor. It's seeping from between the timing cover and block. Tightening the rightmost water pump bolt stopped the leak. I'm replacing the water pump anyway, because I don't remember when it was last done (a couple decades ago). Need to get the car ready for the drive to Vegas.

Since I have decided to keep my car I started to fix the things that annoy me or that I can improve on. I got a new tanks In FI tank with 400 lph pump yesterday and started the process of rewiring with an AAW harness. I think I will also change out the headlights to something different. I have tri-bar headlights now and think they look cheap. I just don't know what I will do there. Any suggestions? I have been thinking about trying out LED headlights.

My new wheels should be on the CNC maching on Monday and finally my new steering wheel is on the way. I got a Budnik GT 13.75" wheels. It is time to say goodby to my old Billet Specialties wheel. :thum

Maybe I missed it somewhere but what new wheels did you decide on?

I am having a set of 3 piece wheels made for me from NewGen Wheels. It will be a custom set and they will mill one on Monday. If I don't like the look of it I will have them modify it to a split 5 spoke design. I will post some pictures of them once I have one to share.

What was your Billet Specialties wheel? What does it look like again? I could have a buyer....just sayin'....;-)

I don't remember the model but I think it was Chicane? I will have the wheel, button, black half wrap and adapter for an aftermarket tilt column available as soon as the new one arrives. PM an offer if you are interested.

Here is a CAD rendering of the wheel that is being made.

Finally got the 69 uncovered and started up over the weekend after a long, brutal Indiana winter. Felt good to get some seat time.

A local LEO accosted me as I came out of my favorite pub with a takeout order. Thought I might be in trouble (as I had just taken someone for a ride around town) but he just wanted to check out the car. Tried to talk me into taking it out to the nearby abandoned air strip to "see what it would do" like they did their new squad car (Charger) :p

I am almost done rewiring my car. I have two relays to wire in the engine compartment and then I will be rewiring my center console. I was thinking about putting relays for my power windows since they are pretty slow and under powered.Do you guys think that would make much of a difference? I plan on lubricating the runners and adding helper springs as well.

That's always a great feeling after a long winter.

I hobbled out to the garage and looked at the 66 sitting under its cover. It'll be a long time till I'm able to drive it again.

Finally move to a house that has paved roads and STILL can't take the damn thing out.

Look on the bright side....you'll set a new record of time between blown motors.

So that was an April Fools joke about you selling it. I knew it!
