I spent all Saturday getting Midlife ready for our local Mustang Club car show on Sunday. The best part of the show is the night before, when club members get to drive all of the new Fords off of the front lot into the back lot. It's amazing what the new trucks have for gee-daws and gadgets...I guess they have to for the cost of these behemoths!
So...Sunday I get to the show field very early to snag the prime spot and help set-up. My basic job is to tally the judging. Club cars don't get judged, but the participants get to pick the top 10. Non-club cars get judged, and with 2 classes, that's a lot of book-keeping. I put the class winners' names, car descriptions, etc. on 3x5 cards for the announcer. I just about finished up, when I asked the Club chairman...well...who won the Sponsor's Choice? We let the local Ford dealer select any car from the field for his favorite, and its the highest award a Club member can achieve. With a lot of grumbling, the chairman says its me! Woohoo!
