What did you get done on your Stang today????

Backed mine out of the garage to set up the paint booth to shoot enamel paint on house trim...

Took it out of the garage ( no A.C. in the car ) and went for a spin around the neighborhood in 107 ( heat index ) and 89 % humidity and then pulled her back into the air conditioned garage where we both felt better. Not much cruzin' in Fl. in the dog days of Aug.

Got the driver's seat all disassembled and got all the upholstery and cruddy old burlap stripped off.
Drove into town and picked up some material to replace the decrepit felt/batting that runs around the edges of the seat frame. And some pizza.

I took my car to a Corvette show yesterday. :). It was fun talking with those guys yesterday. Gave each other a hard time and a good teasing. Suppressing I came home with a couple awards. Who'd a thunk?

On Sunday a couple of us took our ponies out up through the local coastal range for some exercise.

That's the third 68 ignition switch I've heard or seen go bad in the last few months. I think there is a bad set of aftermarket switches currently on the market.

Got the upper part of the driver's seat upholstered.

Still have to poke a few holes in the vinyl for the back stops and the plastic cover panel, but that's the last seat piece I had left to do. The hardest part now will be getting the seat hinged back together. Looking forward to bolting it back in the car and testing it out.

Yes, I will double check my back pocket for screwdrivers etc. before getting in!

Got the driver's seat finished up Saturday night. Bolted it back in and took it for a test drive this evening. Re-discovered that I can break 70 mph in 2nd gear.

It will take a little getting used to and/or break-in time, as I do sit about an inch or so higher, but I expected that. Feels pretty good though, both to sit in and the fact that I am done upholstering for the foreseeable future!

Now I need to address the door panels and the center console, and that will pretty much finish the interior. Of course, I could always use a fold-down seat too...

Did some more sheet metal repairs, this time to the right rear wheel housing area. The lip had a small section of rust in it. Didn't like it, so out it came and new metal went in. I also found a small area at the rear bottom corner pf the wheel house. Out it came and I have the new metal all formed to go back in. It started getting late so I called it quits on that. Chasing all these little remaining spots of rot is a pain! I am nearing the end though!

Even though I stopped on the body repair, I wasn't finished for the night. I recently got a "new" heater box. It just needed a bit of tidying up with paint and foam. I got everything bead blasted and then painted. After it dries tonight I'll put in the new foam tomorrow when I get home from work. After that it'll get the new heater core I bought sometime back and get buttoned, up ready for the car. I'll post some pics of it when finished.

My son moved his fabrication business from my garage to a warehouse over the weekend. After cleaning the garage, I got both Mustangs in the Garage for the first time in 2 years,
