What did you get done on your Stang today????

Dana,
That annoying leak you mentioned could simply be from that particular brand of Burrito's you're always eating. Might consider changing brands.

Just sayin' :dun

Ordered new intake manifold gaskets, grade 8 fasteners and Gaskacinch via Amazon, as I am reseating the intake manifold this weekend to address a slightly annoying vacuum leak coming from the passenger head to intake manifold mating surface...

May I ask what gaskets you ordered? I used the Felpro Printoseal intake gaskets and used Gaskacinch (sparingly) and had some problems wit the gaskets coming apart.

This was the first sign of the problem, although I didn't know that.

This is what I found.

These gasket where only a year old. I've read (on the internet) that many people have had problems.

@Larry - I wouldn't use the Print-o-seal gaskets...ever!
As you can see they are, in a word, worthless.
Geez, Larry, In looking at your first photo, with the gasket seal exposed, l would have known I was gonna have problems installed like that! ;)

For the Boss, its important to ensure that all water passages are clear!
I have been, and continue to use FelPro MS90150, not sure which you will need for your application, for the Boss, that is the correct part number for the good gaskets...
As far as sealing, I only use 'Gasgacinch' and only on the head to gasket surface and leave the manifold side of the gaskets dry. In lieu of the cork or rubber end gaskets, I use Automotive RTV Blue silicone sealant instead and overlap onto manifold gasket slightly. Just a good 3/16 bead and let it cure several minute before installing the manifold. A lot of guys also like a light film of the same RTV sealant around the water ports. I have never needed to use the RTV on both sides of the gaskets And, of course, when installing the manifold I use two long guide pins made from bolts with the heads sawed off, in opposite sided bolt holes in the heads to ensure true seating of the manifold.

Good, I was just giving you a heads-up on the printoseal problems I had. I had this problem last year and it since has been fixed and all is good.

Thanks Ted. The timing is kinda bad though, she'll get pushed aside now the kid #2 is on the way and theres an upstairs to finish in the house.....

I can understand where you are coming from Ryan, congratulations to you both on your second child.

It ran like a top before I started wiring. Hopefully it will after but if it doesn't it won't be the first time.

I emptied another 20 oz can of SEM Trim Black into the engine bay of my '65 fb. I reinstalled the spring perches and springs and put the front wheels on. This was the first time this car's had all four wheels in place in about two years. But I didn't take it off the jackstands; the wheels might need to come off before I'm ready to push her out into the driveway to drop in the engine. This car's sat since June 2008 and as is the case with all projects, it's a milestone to be putting one part onto another and bolting them together, instead of taking stuff apart.

Stokes66,
Looking pretty good. Is it up and running? Any issues?

Craig
Ran great. Choke is a little high. Layed one 85 step black mark with tons of smoke and no brake. Spun though all 3 gears. That's what I was wanting.

Finally got the first few coats of clear on. Finally starting to look like something. Now it's time to reassemble, plot out the stripes and blow it back apart.
