What insurance companies are you folks using for your mustangs? Started thinking about it over the weekend after trailering my car to the painter on Friday and leaving it there in his shop, out of my sight. Rates from Grundy/Hagerty are attractive but the restrictions on driving seem excessive. but my regular car insurance company doesn't offer agreed value coverage.

I called this morning and got a policy from Hagerty that covers the car while it's under construction, since it's finally getting to the point where it's starting to be worth something. but trying to figure out what I will do down the road once it's finally back together.

I have mine with american family insurance. It's an agreed value type. I pay about $100 a year. Can drive it whenever I want and if I need to change value I just send in an appraisal.

I should add that mine is just a driver. If it was worth more I might use a different company.

Hagerty. Dad had a claim on his and they gave him more than he needed incase they found something else broke when they were fixing it. Also told him to call if they needed more money.

Hagerty.
What restrictions? I can drive as much as I want. Unless you're claiming it as your only car.

I use Hagerty as well. They have very few restrictions compared to most of the other companies out there.

Knock on wood, I haven't had to file a claim yet.

Grundy, I have not had any claims (hope I never do). Hagerty would not cover my car, at the time I had 4 cars and 4 drivers and could not prove the Stang was not a daily driver. I have my car covered for stated value, I have $10,000 of coverage and I pay about $150.00 a year. I do have restrictions on usage, Grundy wants us to use it only for car events like car shows and such, I follow these most of the time. One big issue for Grundy is the car must be in a attached garage, I would ask about coverage while at an off site repair shop.

Hagerty. I've been with them for about ten years and I've had a couple of claims for body damage and a couple of windshields on the $0 deductible comprehensive. I've talked with them directly and they even encourage the use of the car for recreation and support taking it to work on the occasional Friday to share with your hobby with your co-workers. I don't think there is a mileage restriction in the policy I have. As far as handling claims, they paid the first claim I had without a problem. Yours truly had backed the car into a park bench trying to leave a show venue. The second claim was upon return from the 45th in Birmingham, AL. We got caught in a downburst (wind, not rain) and the flying rocks totaled my paint, windshield and headlights, and damaged most of the stainless trim on the car. They sent me a check for $3,400 to repair the car after an examination by one of their adjusters. I took it to a good body shop and they came up with $7,400 as an estimate. I was able to compare the Hagerty estimate with the body shop estimate line by line to show what was left out of their estimate. They sent me an additional $3,650. No arguments or anything of the sort. Just a well laid out Excel spreadsheet and a copy of both estimates did the trick.

Just insured my '87 Fiero with Hagerty too. Its old enough now and insured for less than the Auto Insurance Companies offer.

Just did a quick quote for my 67. I valued it at 25k and the quote was $450 a year. That sounds high compared to what you guys are saying.
