68 Coupe Daily Driver - Keeping it running and trying to impove it

Re: 68 Coupe Daily Driver - Getting Ready for the HRPT - Todo List

That looks sharp. You have the lines on the c-pillar dead on. I debated on whether I really needed the double sided tape or not.

I would say no. Once it is stuck, it is impossible to adjust if you were off, which I was on the passenger side. I just wound up removing the tape so I could slide it back some more.

I have also relocated my seat belt mount point. That also helps hold in the C-Pillar place.

Re: 68 Coupe Daily Driver - Getting Ready for the HRPT - Todo List

I would get the C-pillar exactly where you want it and then pull the red cover off the tape and press in place. I was concerned the two might not lay flat. We could certainly delete it on the next run.

Picked up some boxes today!

Classic Auto Air is sponsoring the Bus on the HRPT. They gave me a couple window stickers for my Mustang.

I getting a lot of boxes, need to finish the installs.

Finally got the A Pillar piece installed. Needed to trim about 3/16 inch from the bottom to make the fit easier. Reinstalled the passenger C-pillar piece to get the wind lace to line up better.

Next is the package tray. Will be removing the speaker (no radio) and test the fan (it quit working). If I can make the fan work, I will keep it. The new package tray will be padded and dark blue vinyl covered.

You have a rear defroster? Very cool
That's known as a rear defrogger. It works quite well...when was the last time you saw a frog on the package tray or rear window?

you've been busy!
Yep, but not busy enough. I can only squeeze in two evening a week to work on the car and I have so much to do.

Craig, is your coupe ready for the tour?

It's always ready! I might even wash it before I leave...
but seriously I haven't done a thing to it. My wife wants me to lower her seat riser (I did the driver's side a few years ago and she likes it). I might get that done before the trip!

nope. I have acquired most of the original dash and underdash stuff. My biggest issue is finding a way to put a compressor on the BBF! Not much room under the hood.

Re: 68 Coupe Daily Driver - Getting Ready for the HRPT - Todo List

Thanks Rich,

I will send a zip file of them as soon as I get the sun visors in. Should be this weekend. Do you have a window sticker for me to put on for the Power tour?

Bought the Sun visors today and all the Brackets and Hardware.

Re: 68 Coupe Daily Driver - Getting Ready for the HRPT - Todo List

I should have mentioned we use the convertible visors, because they match the grain of the headliner. We also have custom made ones to fit the console headliner, The factory ones are to fat on the end and hit the console. I'll see about a decal for you.

Re: 68 Coupe Daily Driver - Getting Ready for the HRPT - Todo List

Installed the sun visors. The standard 68 light blue sun visors were way too light so I got the dark blue ones which matched perfect. Drilling the holes mad me real nervous. even though I had marked the placed before hand, I was worried that once you drill, you can not fix a hole in the wrong place. Some of mine were off but the bracket hide my oops.

I think the headliner and visors really make the interior look sharp. The almost 2 inches of extra headroom is great!

Hope the predicted rain this weekend done not hinder my plans, but I can always recover the seats.
