This is a '37 dually I think. Looks like it might be close on the belt line...maybe someone can blow it up to see better.

I have a '41 Ford truck with Flathead V8 in it and the cab looks nearly identical, split window and all.

But you probably don't have wipers above the windshield do you?

I went over to Ford-Trucks.com today and asked around as well. Consensus is that it's a '35, '36 or a '37.

I think it's a 40 or 41 with a crank open windshield. That's why the wipers are on top. I see a rectangular hole beneath the windshield on the outside. Is there a hole in the middle ot the top of the dash where a crank could go?

From what I read only 40/41 had rectangular inserts on the instrument panel. I could find nothing in the 30s with such a setup.

Behind the new face of the for the 1940-1941 Ford half-ton pickup was a host of mechanical improvements. Cabs were sturdier and wider, and windshields were fixed with cowl-mounted wipers (but crank-open windshields were available).

Sealed-beam headlamps were new, and mattress-type springs offered extra passenger comfort. The smart rectangular instrument cluster also resembled that of Ford cars.

[admin]I also think it's a commercial cab. I'm pretty sure it was a snowplow.[/admin]

You may be right Sluggo. Also. on the interior side, centered on the firewall, under the dash, was a half decipherable screwed on metal plate/tag (appx 4"x6") that said something about "Towing" & "Limits".

I could barely read it, but I kept it though. But I think that would also point to the commercial direction as well?

Good find!

And this is that tag off of the interior fire wall - which could indicate that it was a commercial use vehicle. I just wish it was more legible.

What's the serial number and gross weight?

Did you happen to notice that it was a 6x4?

Nice...... Sounds like it could have been a close match for that one I found on the trailer.

The story on this "Ford" truck cab is getting even crazier.... I wanted to know exactly what year this was, so I went over to "Ford-Truck.com" to ask some of those guys. I got a very unexpected answer!

The entire thread is here:

http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/906518-hi-and-greetings-new-here-can-anyone-help-id-the-year-of-my-cab.html

It appears that my "Ford" is not a Ford... But a Generel Motors war-era Yellow Coach & Truck pickup! WTF?!? LoL

If anyone is interested, I recommend reading that entire post, I found it very cool!
