Rapid Rabbit's 70 Stang

I had a 73 inch belt and it wouldn't fit over the bigger alternator pulley. The one I got is 74.5 . I will check it. I thought the same though. Seemed a touch long.

Seems to be in the middle of the range zone?

Also painted the side mounting flanges of the radiator awhile ago. Trying to take the aluminum radiator down a notch. Hard to tell the difference, but seems a bit better to me.

Before.

Looks ok in the zone.

I normally go for the far end of the range zone which allows for belt wear and stretching and still remains close to centered.

Make sure the radiator is not touching any frame/body parts that can wear a hole from vibration.

Should be all clear around the radiator. Fits the same as the stock one.

Not much to say here but #@$%&!!!!

While I'm at it bit me in the butt.
Decided since I had the bumper off I would replace some of the brackets that were a little bent and rusty.

What's that old saying about it never being done? Seems you have a new project to add to the list.

That's one of those "is it better to have found it or not deals". While it sucks now I'm guessing you'll eventually be glad you stumbled onto it.

Yeah. I'm surprised the bumper didn't fall off. I turned the nuts and the metal disintegrated. I guess I just have to much brute strength. Haha.

Man I wish I knew how to weld. This isn't going to be cheap.
The passenger side isnt as bad but will still probably need to be fixed too.

Here's a blurry shot of the passenger side. Not as bad, but still rusty.

reminds me of what i found when i took the bumper off on my 67.

So i used a grinder and cut it all out, then got a new front frame rail (from laurel mountain mustang) and welded it back in.

Naturally it was cleaned down to bare metal before welding.

:gs will fix that missing bumper look right up, look what it did for that red and black one.........

Boredom got the best of me yesterday so I put the hood back on.
Looks pretty goofy with no grill and bumper. My car has a overbite now.

Finished up the computer and inertia switch so I could get the dash back on. The panel above the glovebox makes for easy access to them.

I got the grill and trim all back on too. It's starting to look like a car again.
