Whenever I pass a high school thats nearby, can't help but notice all the new and newer cars/vehicles , not to mention really nice sportscars in the parking lot/s, nothing new here I know! I guess a part of me is jealous as I drove my 66 Plymouth Valiant(no ac, no ps, no pb, even no ac/heat!) from 70- 72, then inherited my grandmothers 63 Pontiac lemanns which the tranny gave out halfway in my last year of HS, then had to ride the schoolbus the rest of the year. Many of my friends were kind of in the same boat as most parents could not afford nicer cars back then, but none of us ever complained!! Never!!! We did have kind of like parties where we'd get together and clean and polish our cars. I did change my own oil and was at Hi-lo frequently! Oh those were some good times! Gas cost wasnt a big deal at .20-.25 cents per gallon, I once was running really low on gas, found a dime on the floorboard and made it home! Lol
My youngest daughter drives my old 98 rav4 of what drove I for my job as a physical therapist(homehealth) it now has right at 300k on it! She takes excellent care of it and when she is graduated, we'll buy here a nice used car. She may get to have some to choose from, but I make the final decision.
Overall, the youngest is taking the best care of her car, more like I did, well, not quite like I did.
I tell them, if you don't take care of your horse, it will die and you will be on foot!
So, what did you drive?
