the weird part is how does water get in there? I have looked at the drip rail on mine and I can't find any visual evidence of a leak. Paint is still good too, but when it rain, water runs out of the rust like faucet

Idk but I bet when I get in there and do the repair I'll have a better understanding. I bet it's at the windshield seal though.

I was thinking that too, the windshield seal could be old and brittle... but it must "fill up" with water because the holes are above the windshield.

I've messed with a few of these trucks over the years and it's pretty common. I've seen guys trash the cabs with this rust before.

I noticed the third pedal too. did it used to be manual?
I was taught to drive a manual on a column shift. My youngest son's 67 Chevy van was a three on the tree. I taught him to drive it. It is a bit tricky when the parts are worn.

Yeah, it was originally a 3 speed on the column. It was already converted when I got the truck years ago. I'll pull that clutch pedal out one day. I bet it might bring a dollar or 2.

Are you sure the sealant at the bottom of the drip rail is intact? On a lot of old cars the sealant dries out, shrinks, gets brittle and cracks. Clean the drip rail real good for inspection. This stuff works good for temporary fixes, cleans off easily when you're ready for a permanent repair.

there is no sealant. It's welded and painted solid. No paint pealing or cracks that I can see. I'll take a pic in the day light tomorrow
