What did you get done on your Stang today????

Ordered some TMI Sport seat foam and matching upholstery from Kentucky Mustang today. Now I need to get the good hog ring pliers & shears from NPD and rustle up some burlap for the rear seat.

finally got around to putting the valve covers on that have been lying around for over a year. had to fab up a stainless hard line to connect the PCV valve to the carb.

now I need to clean the dust out of the letters on the covers....

Got a broken intake bolt removed, and got the timing cover painted and ready for install....
too many of the 'while I'm at its' going on at the same time...

Finally got off my butt and spent some time on the car today. Kind of 1 step forward 2 steps back thing. But it all worked out in the end.

I got my throttle cable and pedal modified and installed, then realized I had installed the egr delete spacer upside down when I installed the throttle body a long time ago. When I hooked up the throttle and TV cable I realized they were way off. Stood around confused for a bit then realized my mistake.
Had to take off the throttle body and reroute some wiring flip the bracket and got it all back together.

Big thanks to John(ponyman66) for the pdf file on how to do the pedal modification and to Rob(66Gt350) for the stock throttle cable. :beer

Here's the piece I made to adapt the stock pedal, then It was just a matter of bending and installing the pedal a bunch of times until I got the angle right. Painted it all up and it's one more thing off the list. :yah

Checked/tightened my header bolts.

One of my favorite things to do on this car, especially the back ones by the master cylinder and the ones by the shock towers. Which is most of them.

OK, so that's sarcasm... it isn't really one of my favorite things at all. :guns

Saturday was detailing Ronda's Mustang. Gotta love Kona Blue:

Sunday, I pulled the headlights out of the 86 and repainted the headlight buckets. "While I'm at it", i ended up repainting the rub strip from wheel-to-wheel, then the mirrors and some of the window trim. Replaced a few Saleen decals (bumper #, and "302" hood decals) and Ford underhood decals...

Next up: valvecover gaskets and front brake pads...

Started to empty it out after the Power Tour. Still need to be cleaned up but it's not to bad after 12 days on the road and 3570 miles.

Drove the last 378 miles to get back home from the HRPT and unloaded it. Now it needs a good cleaning and replace the ignition switch. BUT not today, I am tired.

Put the new radiator in, The water neck leaked, so I tore it apart for the 2nd time, now I just gobbed silicone on it w/o a gasket.

Going to get new hoses in the morning.

Pest control. I discovered my shop is infested with black widow spiders. Sprayed everywhere I could reach.
Not sure I want to touch the car now.

had the same problem a couple years ago after the "great flood". I was on a high & dry spot & all the brown recluses came to my place. set off a couple packs of those raid bombs over night. killed em all & no fumes/residue left over. those things work great!

Wonder how many I'd need for 2400 sq ft? When I started spraying, all I saw was black widows and Brown recluse. Looked like a scene out of Arachnophobia.

Started the reupholstery job last night. The back of the rear seat is done.

My fingers hurt. You don't realize it at the time, but all the stretching and pulling stresses your fingertips pretty good where the nails connect.

Tonight I take it easy and tear the rear seat bottom down. No pulling on fabric for a few days.

Considering taking the fronts in to an upholstery shop. But probably won't. Because I'm a tightwad.

Good luck with your war on the Arachnids!
