2001 Cobra No Start

Unsure if gloss black is the right color for the valve covers.

And unsure if matte is the right color for the upper intake.

Maybe something in the middle of both. Or is black the right color on a silver Vert?

I imagine the intake was just cast aluminum. That's what the sohc one is. My valve covers are probably satin. Maybe they were shiny once.

I thought I've seen the valve covers in silver on these?
 
Don't do anything underhood gloss black. You'll regret it. Typically looks too shiny to begin with but then trying to keep things decent looking on a car you actually drive will be impossible. Much better to go with something more akin to a semi-gloss. Years ago all the mustang restorers used a particular rattle can number for the engine bay that looks good. I like Eastwood's chassis black. Durable and just the right sheen for me.
 
Considering how best up and corroded these things were, paint was the only option.

New bumper came in. Guy said original bumper was destroyed when he went in a ditch. A factory V8/V6 bumper just wasn’t doing it for me.

Little more tweaking needed, overall amazed at the fit. I’ll probably fab up a couple brackets here and there for my own personal sanity but doesn’t appear it’s necessary.

What bumper is that? I've thought about swapping to an 03-04 cobra bumper mainly for the fog lights lol.

That looks more like a Cobra R style with that lip.
 
Dropped the rear out this evening. Not a bad job. Hopefully it goes back in as easy. Gonna clean and paint the subframe while cleaning and painting under the car. Diff is getting regeared to 4.10 as well.

Got new shocks, lowering springs, rotors, pads, and subframe bushings waiting for reassembly.

Who would have thought this thing would turn into a full restoration. Already been working on the rest of the underside; cleaning and detailing. Few spots that need a little rust treatment then body color paint.

Got it all busted down to regear. Not a moment too soon either. Looks like it’s been weeping.
