Small update. Fab'd the combo shock mount & headlight bucket mounts.

Cut out 4 identical pieces on the band saw.

Burned in:
I also welded on a 1/4" thich reinforced dogear on the botto of the radius rod for attaching the lower shock mount.

I may move the buckets back some more - not 100% sure yet:

And they need to be adjusted down in the front... LoL

Gratuitous pic for Abe... :roll

Bottom view:
The wiring will exit the bottom hole in the bucket and whip into the bracket via a short piece of MC cable - so the wiring will be basically concealed from view.

And... semi-hidden turn signals. I will have to scuff the finish on the bezels and coat with my rust converter to obtain the bronze look still.

Sweet....I would not move them back. Part of the "look" to me is headlights that really make a statement.

I see now that you're getting closer to the finish line you are starting to cut corners and lower the quality of your work. :sarc

Looking real good Jeremy.

I think that you should paint it an olive drab color.

It is too nice of work to leave it looking like a rusty rat rod.

Thanks Skip. All in good time... I just don't have much of that left.

Thanks Dave.

Also scored some killer goodies at the swap meet this weekend!

Found another B&M shifter.
A set of new 7" sealed beams for my headlight buckets [nb]I ALMOST walked away with about 60 boxes of new sealed beam headlights for $25 bucks... but wiser judgment (& Kyle) suggested that I just buy the 2 I need for $5 and call it a day...[/nb]
A pair a polished 429 SCJ valve covers
A polished finned scoop to match the valve covers.
And (not shown) a correct water pump puller for my 460.

Kyle (Rusty70) went with me. It was a GREAT day for a swap.

Hey Big J, I haven't been around much lately, but I have been lurking around and have tried to keep up with your rod and it is absolutely awesome. Looking friggin great! You got some bad ass skills brotha!

60 headlights for 25$!! :wth wish the stingy swap rats here would give good prices like that....

No, no - 60 BOXES - 2 in each box. Half of them were in sealed Speedway boxes as well!
