70_Fastback: RAT ROD - 193x Ford / 1942 GMC Truck

Re: Got my next project. RAT ROD - '39(?) Ford Truck

If your gonna run the semi truck frame and wheels why not a big ole cummings diesel?

Re: Got my next project. RAT ROD - '39(?) Ford Truck

Just got back from picking up the rear drivetrain. Got a complete 9" ford rearend (found out it's posi when I got there! Score.) out of an early T-bird - that's what he told me anyway. Not sure of the ratio yet. I'll check that tonight.

56 1/4" from backing plate to backing plate.

Got it for a cool $100

And I can provide a pic too, if any of you ka-knuckle heads really need to see it.

I dont believe it without a picture or canceled check....

Re: 70_Fastback: RAT ROD Build - 19xx Ford / 1942 Chevy Truck

Cool cash bud.

And I'll get some picks of it, tonight, when I determine the gear ratio.

Eh, without me taking the time to search on how to manually count & confirm gear ratio (it's almost dinner time) - what was the proper method again by counting revolutions?

And here is the 9" that I picked up this morning for a cool $100 bucks. And it's a trac-loc unit to boot!

Guy said it was out of an old T-bird. The C5xx tells me 1965 - correct?

Not sure yet Jake. May just get a cheap C6 for now. Or if I can find a cheap manual, I make pick that up. I'm not real picky actually.
