Pandemic Quarantine Projects Thread

I’ve been away from home the past 10 years, between Iraq and Afghanistan, and the past 2 years in Kuwait. I wrecked an 08 Viper at the track here in Kuwait last Dec. been rebuilding it with a few mods while I‘m there. Body shop is doing the body, I’m doing the mechanical repairs. I was supposed to be home now for my R&R, miss wrenching on the 66‘s back home.

I am still working during this whole mess, but the lighter work requirements allowed me to finally get moving on a project. I spent the weekend grinding the floor in the second half of the shop, prepping it for the epoxy I will lay down next weekend. It has only been five years since I did the first half. I might actually get to work on cars in the shop before the end of the year! Hard to tell size from the picture, this half is 30' wide by 50' deep!

Nice. Start a thread on it if your doing yourself. I’d like to see what’s involved in doing it. I want to do my shop one day.

It'll be full by the end of the year and you'll need another bay, no doubt! Trust me on this!

Nice shop.

What is this project?

This is the second tie for me, I did the first half 5 years ago. I am a firm believer you get what you pay for. I am using an industrial grade epoxy that consists of a primer coat, epoxy coat (with flakes) and a clear coat. The other half of the shop stores my boat and RV and to date it has held up very well with no peeling or flaking what so ever, even with hot tires parked on it.

Nice shop.

Pat

First clue is that I only have Fords. I tore that vehicle down for a quick rebuild when my son was 4. He is now almost 25! It is the first project for the shop when it gets completed. The frame has been fully welded and powder coated. I have a 351 in my other garage being torn down for rebuild. The body sits in yet another garage, ready for blasting once I am finally done shop building!

Anybody recognize the frame?

I was thinking bronco?

Winner, winner. It was a 77 Bronco, it is now a 71 Bronco due to wonderful California emission laws. The 77 parts are being swapped to a 71 frame. Those are 20 year old brand new tires on the chassis!
