Pandemic Quarantine Projects Thread

Got most of the brake swap done on my summer beater. Everything went pretty smooth. Pressed in balljoints are a pain, though.

I know there's no pads installed. I was test fitting things for clearance. Just need to install the lines and bleed the system.

Holy wheel spacers, Batman! Those might be the thickest I've ever seen.

Yeah, they're like 1.75 and 2 on the rear. I hate running them but its pretty much the only way besides custom wheels. The 3rd gen F bodys have 0 offset wheels or something crazy. I can run a 93-02 rear axle (bolts right in) and eliminate the rear spacers since its a bit wider. Just haven't found one close by yet.

That project is continuing to snowball lol.

Realized the brake fluid in the master was pretty icky.

So naturally I figured why not replace the master cylinder. Might as well do the booster while its out. I don't have a pic right now but its got the booster and master from a 2000 Z28 installed (bolted right in)

Then I remember that a real (fun) car should have 3 pedals, so I happened to have pulled the pedal assembly from a 4th gen car years ago wanting to swap to a manual in this car one day Sitting in the back seat. Once again, mostly bolted right in.

That is a master battery disconnect there too. The whole area is covered with a panel.

The wiring is/was atrocious. I spent quite a bit of time re-running, wrapping, and securing the various wires.

Just need to bend a few lines from the master to prop valve and bleed then the car should be driveable.....until I find a T56 from a 93-97 LT1

Hi ho, hi ho, it's back to work I go!

My projects are going to be set aside now.
Vacation is over. I am going back to work on Monday.

My store isn't reopening yet, but I'll be working Monday thru Friday shipping out shoes for online orders.

Good to hear Pat! Any bit of good news is always appreciated. It seems like my local NBC new outlet only likes to show the bad news, they seem to love to deflate any positive balloon coming out of this.

To get the topic back on road , I have made a cradle for an engine that was laying under the workbench for nearly 20 years. Woow time flies !!! Its a 289 , 0.30 overbore and flat top pistons with C6AE heads which has 49.2 cc chambers . Looks to be a 10 to 10.5 CR. I am planning to change the intake from an orig 2V intake to a orig 4V intake with an autolite 4100 10.8 carb. And... working in my sons new home renovating electrical , plumbing and heating....for now. Roof has be done last summer.
