Some don’t like it but a dusting of wd40 does a great job of keeping surface rust away. Just make to prep it accordingly before paint.

Noooooo! Only use WD40 if you like fish eyes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
This weather is crazy, I had to wear a jacket for like 2 days, now its back to like 60* though.
similar here, 40's and rainy, supposed to be in the 60's tomorrow.It’s actually warm for a few days. 36 now, but it’ll be below zero again come Friday.
10/2? How are you planning to ground it? Have you got a sufficiently sized ground run into the garage already? Maybe conduit connected back to the house/grounded panel? Don't take chances, especially this time of year with all the melt, etc. You can get breakers at any big box hardware store. They're cheap.
