"Phoenix" 65 Coupe to FB

Some don’t like it but a dusting of wd40 does a great job of keeping surface rust away. Just make to prep it accordingly before paint.

Or a few cans of silicone lube will do it too.


 
Noooooo! Only use WD40 if you like fish eyes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
 
Stay away from ANY rattle can stuff if at all possible. If you absolutely must use something go with an etching primer. It has the best "bite" but also can be sanded off easily. If some remains in a spot and gets painted over its your best option to avoid issues.
When it is time to lay down the "real" base primer (epoxy) you'll want to remove EVERYTHING and get back to bare metal. NOTHING out of a rattle can will give you the level of adhesion you want under final paint. I've used the Eastwood 2k stuff to paint my rear end (easy {.}) and some brackets and such and it is decent but I wouldn't want anything under my paint other than matching product for fear of issues with both adhesion and compatibility.
I've left metal bare in my garage for months without any surface rust issues here in the Midwest during the humid summer and such. I also would avoid WD40 or any such product on something intended for paint. Yes, you can use a degreaser or such but only one way to know if you got it ALL removed and that will ruin your day 9 times out of ten.

I did get the door hung but not alligned. I actually got sick the week it arrived and it has been firgid here sense. So i just ordered a 5000 Watt 240v heater for the garage so i can get back to work.
 
This weather is crazy, I had to wear a jacket for like 2 days, now its back to like 60* though.

I'm in the same boat with the repro door. I hung it and have the weatherstripping on but haven't messed with aligning it yet.
 
It’s actually warm for a few days. 36 now, but it’ll be below zero again come Friday.
 
Its almost 50 today but supposedly we will have freezing rain friday SMH......

On the bright side my heater and 10/2 romex showed up. Now if the Effin breaker would ship lol
 
10/2? How are you planning to ground it? Have you got a sufficiently sized ground run into the garage already? Maybe conduit connected back to the house/grounded panel? Don't take chances, especially this time of year with all the melt, etc. You can get breakers at any big box hardware store. They're cheap.

Is 10/2 with a ground wire
