I have a OEM crank you can have for free !

What a nice guy, but I think I'll pass.

Re: Who wants to see video of a 289 grenading?

Mark, I have the stock 302 crank out of my 70 if you want some more cubes.

Thanks, but I think I might go the "all new" route. Maybe a 427 side oiler or a Cammer. Maybe just some pedals and a noise machine.

That sucks! I have and engine you can have. I just pulled it out of the new project. It is. 1.8l out of my 68 Volvo P1800. Hell you can even have the OD tranny.

Really sorry to hear the news.

If only it was the crank itself , he wasn't down like he is now !!!
I think if he can save the heads , he has some luck ????
Time to go for a 351 ?? Mark ???

To complicated for Mark !! ( read brainwork ) He needs his brain for his work !!
He loves it easy and straight ( I think ) just like his women in his early days :hide :hide :hide :hide :roll :roll

Re: Who wants to see video of a 289 grenading?

.....he needs a complete crate motor, air cleaner to oil pan....one he simply installs, plugs in and runs........no work internally done in Kansas.

No frack'n way I'd run a crate motor.

Re: Who wants to see video of a 289 grenading?

All kidding aside, any thought on which way you will go? Bigger cubes, stroker? Curious, is the current block the original to the car?

Re: Who wants to see video of a 289 grenading?

Maybe a new 302 block with 289 internals. No, the original block was toast when I restored the car. This motor was a C code virgin when I found it back in 99.

Re: Who wants to see video of a 289 grenading?

Mark, the Shriners Swap meet is this weekend. Do you want to come up and go with us? Maybe find a new mill?

Re: Who wants to see video of a 289 grenading?

Sorry Mark for making fun of you.
I wish I could help you. I have two motorblocks , a 302 and a 289 crankshaft , laying around.
If it wasn't for the distance , you could come by and choose what you wanted. Serious.
I did enjoy your video's !! :thu :thu :thu
It sucks that this happens at season opening.I feel your pain , dude .
Building an engine and racing it , must be the max !!

Appreciate the offer, but I've GOT to get the grass cut this weekend, it's like a jungle.

You've got lots of time on your hands now to cut grass, Mark. Go buy something to get the rebuild started...you'll feel better.

Re: Who wants to see video of a 289 grenading?

I wonder...can you put 289 internals into a new Boss 302 block?
